Description
A plugged center sump stops the unload before the sweep ever gets a chance to work. The Springland Grain Flow Maintainer (GFM) is the factory option built to stop that. It keeps clumps from blocking the center sump and helps grain keep flowing into the under-floor U-trough.
Springland lists the GFM as an option on the U-Trough Free Flow Unloading System, alongside the 25° incline elbow and U-trough extensions. That system is the unloader Springland has sold for decades: 14-gauge G90 galvanized construction, sealed gearboxes, and a U-trough that moves more grain than a round tube at the same horsepower, with less grain damage. Published capacity on the Free Flow system is 5,000 to 6,000 bushels per hour (136–163 MT), depending on grain type and condition. Sizes fit typical bins from 18 to 78 feet in diameter, and the trough is designed to fit under most standard aeration floors.
The rest of the center-sump package is built the same way. Floor flanges use sloping inlets for a larger intake area. The center discharge gate is enlarged to 24 inches, with agitator pins to break up clumps that still reach the gate. Center gearbox brackets are sloped so product can fall into the flighting instead of hanging up on the mount.
Use the GFM when out-of-condition grain, fines, or frozen chunks are likely to bridge the center well. It is an accessory for a Springland U-Trough Free Flow unload, not a stand-alone unloader.
