These fittings are mill-duty steel fabrications for dry bulk material handling: spouting, valves, slide gates, adjustable spout ends, and industrial ductwork for air and dust systems. Construction uses laser cutting, high-definition plasma, computerized rolling, automatic seam welding, press brakes, and stamping so parts match the spout and gate patterns used throughout the grain industry.

Flow retarder. Internal 1/2" baffles (7 ga carbon, 7 ga AR on wear points) create a moving pile that cuts grain velocity. Install on approximately 10 ft intervals on steep or long runs. Welding-sleeve models drop into existing round spout. Vertical-drop retarders are for true vertical legs; 45° cushion turnouts are used when a vertical spout must kick out. Typical capacity guidelines use ~70 BPH per square inch of interior area for 8" and larger spouts on clean corn, soybeans, or wheat at 40° or greater. Target grain velocity under 1,750 FPM to limit kernel damage and premature wear . A 100 ft spout at 45° typically needs 2 retarders; at 60° about 3; at 85° about 6. Approximate shipping size for an 8"–12" inline unit: 24–30" long × (size + 6") square.
Lining materials. Catalog options: 1/4" cloth-back blue urethane; 5/16" cloth-back orange urethane; expanded-metal-backed blue / orange / ceramic-chip urethane; 7 ga AR plate; 1/4" AR plate; 4"×6" × 1/4" or 1/2" ceramic tile; 6"×6" hex tile sheets. Expanded-metal-backed blue urethane is the preferred liner for most grain. AR is specified for high-impact zones. Tile is used on the most severe wear. Cup bolts (1/4" × 1") fasten urethane. Tile uses a matching resin kit (about 300 of the 4×6 tiles per kit). Sheet goods ship rolled or flat; a 4'×10' urethane roll is a 48" × 12" × 12" class freight piece.
Capacities assume clean, dry whole grain at 40° or steeper. Wet corn should be spouted at 45° minimum. Lining and fittings reduce capacity. Use these figures as planning guidelines and confirm the selection for your application before you order.
